Magnetic Separation Process. The magnetic separation equipment releases a current through the coil within the machine creating a magnetic field. This in turn magnetizes the steel matrix inside the machine. As material flows through the magnetized matrix, all magnetic material is captured, and the non-magnetic material passes through.

It is also known as magnetization, because the objects that can be separated by this technique are magnetized by the magnetic field of the magnets.
